This Unigraphics book is a joint effort by Design Visionaries to bring to life DV President Stephen Samuel’s vision of compiling and publishing the NX training exercises that he has been creating for the engineering community for years. Like his Unigraphics training programs, this book is also project-oriented.

Methods outlined in this UG book go beyond an academic use of Unigraphics—they are tricks of the trade that come from thousands of hours of actual use of Unigraphics to design some of the most difficult products in the world. ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Stephen Samuel, Founder and President of DV, has over 22 years of experience in developing and using high-end CAD tools and mentoring its users. During a ten-year career at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, he implemented advanced CAD/CAM technology in a design and manufacturing environment. He has trained thousands of engineers in Unigraphics, written self-paced courses in UG Advanced Modeling and Best Practices, and performed design work for numerous Fortune 500 companies.

Mark Kelley has 22 years' of mechanical design and analysis experience at DV, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, and Westinghouse Electric. He has trained and mentored engineers in Unigraphics, COSMOS, and Pro/ENGINEER for the last 10 years. He has written advanced training courses for Unigraphics, Pro/ENGINEER, Pro/SURFACE, and Pro/SHEETMETAL, and is a PTC Certified Engineering Provider.

Paul Rymarz, Senior Engineer, has in-depth knowledge and experience in the mechanical design field. Paul is an expert in creating complex geometry in Unigraphics.

Anuranjini Pragada, Industrial Design Lead at DV, has over 10 years' experience in the design field. She has been a major contributor to a vast array of products from automotive to medical to consumer electronics. She is an experienced user of Unigraphics NX as well as other CAD software, including Pro/E and SolidWorks. She specializes in creative uses of computer aided design and modeling.
