Basic and Intermediate NX5 Modeling,
Drafting, and Assemblies will teach you the basic modeling, drafting,
and assemblies’ functionality of the UGS NX5 software. The
book includes practical exercises, self-tests, a CD-ROM with exercises,
and timesaving tips—all based on real world examples!
This NX5 book, a joint effort by the DV team, compiles the tips
and techniques developed by DV President Stephen Samuel over the
years he has been training the engineering community.
The methods outlined in this Unigraphics book go beyond an academic
use of NX5 modeling; they are tricks of the trade that come from
thousands of hours of actual use of the software to design some
of the most difficult products in the world. The exercises in
this learning manual are classroom-tested, project-oriented, and
guaranteed to give you the knowledge you need to learn NX5. Make
NX5 work for YOU!

Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, he implemented advanced CAD/CAM
technology in a design and manufacturing environment. He has trained
thousands of engineers in Unigraphics, written self-paced courses
in UG Advanced Modeling and Best Practices, and performed design
work for numerous Fortune 500 companies.
Anuranjini Pragada, Industrial Design Lead at
DV, has over 10 years' experience in the design field. She has
been a major contributor to a vast array of products from automotive
to medical to consumer electronics. She is an experienced user
of Unigraphics NX as well as other CAD software, including Pro/E
and SolidWorks. She specializes in creative uses of computer aided
design and modeling.
Erik Weeks, Senior Engineer,
has over 10 years of mechanical design and product development
engineering experience at DV, Johnson & Johnson, and Medtronic.
He has developed products using Unigraphics and Pro/ENGINEER.
He has trained engineers in UGNX CAD and Teamcenter Engineering
